I get a sinking feeling every time I hear an emergency vehicle come close to my home. One of my neighbors is in trouble. On a day when Medic One stopped at the house right next door, the sinking feeling intensified. Who needs help? Did the emergency vehicle get there in time to save a life?
The Board of Directors of the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce has voted to endorse the Arlington EMS Levy on the April 26 ballot.
You will be receiving a ballot asking you to decide on continuing the EMS levy (Proposition 1). Your Arlington firefighters are asking you to vote yes on Proposition 1.
The biggest misconception my husband and I had about levies is that they just keep piling on top of each other. It wasn’t until I actually volunteered for one that I found out that they have expiration dates. Come to find out that all levies are approved by the voters only for a certain timeline. Then when the timeline is about to expire, the levy committee starts to campaign for it to be renewed.
Thank you very much for all the great work that the EMS men and women do for our community, and what they have done for myself and my parents.
I have been a patron and a supporter of the Helping Hands Thrift Store for many years. I can’t tell you how this store has saved me.
Helping Hands is a vital service both to the working class citizens of Arlington, and to the various service organizations to which it donates 100 percent of its proceeds. Last year, Cocoon House and the Boys & Girls Club were just a few of those organizations.
There are a number of things that contribute to the high quality of life the residents of our community enjoy. One of those is a comprehensive local healthcare system. Our community is fortunate of have high quality and dedicated doctors, a local hospital with new facilities and state of the art equipment, long term care facilities and a highly trained emergency medical service.
Please consider joining me in support of the EMS Levy – Proposition 1. We are so fortunate to have such high caliber and highly trained EMS personnel. The EMS Levy will ensure continued excellent response and service to the city of Arlington and surrounding communities. Our citizens deserve this continued level of quality care.
As a resident of the city of Arlington, I take great comfort in the emergency medical services provided by our Fire Department EMTs and Paramedics. I’ve seen first hand the life-saving aspect of this service when a loved one experienced a medical emergency.
I am writing to encourage the residents of Arlington, Oso and Darrington to join me in voting yes for EMS Proposition 1. This is not a new tax; it is a replacement for the expiring levy.
As the Medical Services Administrator for the city of Arlington Fire Department, I would like to remind our community that an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Levy, Proposition 1, is on the General Election Ballot. This is not a new tax; it is a replacement for the expiring levy.
