ARLINGTON — Arlington High School’s Jazzmine once again aims to take the town by storm with their original musical stage show “Teen Angst.” Led by new director Brent McGee, Jazzmine will continue its tradition of singing, dancing and striving for top-quality production values, with added elements of drama and storytelling.

The “jukebox musical,” a movement that’s sweeping across the stages of Broadway and onto movie and television screens, takes songs that have already been written and fuses them into a narrative storyline. “Teen Angst” follows a group of high school students as they find their way through the fun and pitfalls of preparing for and going to the prom. Audiences will be treated to an evening of romance, intrigue, comedy and drama, as popular songs bring these young characters to life with toe-tapping tunes and sparkling choreography.

“Teen Angst” starts at 7 p.m. at the Linda M. Byrnes Performing Arts Center on April 13, 14, 20 and 21, and at 2 p.m. on April 22. Tickets are available at the Byrnes Performing Arts Center website at www.byrnesperformingarts.org. The price of tickets is $15 for adults and $10 for students.
