AHS Art Festival

Car show in Silvana

Eddie and Linda Goodridge invite the community to the fifth annual Silvana Show & Shine Car Show in downtown Silvana Saturday, May 3. Registration is free, but they are requesting exhibitors to register in advance.

Parking begins at 6:30 a.m. and registration closes at 9:30 a.m. Judging begins at 10 a.m. and the awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m. in Viking Hall. Prizes are issued in 30 different categories with two official trophies and extras offered by Silvana merchants.

Plant sales

• Along with the plant sale at the AHS Art Festival, Weston High School is also selling tons of plants and cedar baskets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3 and 4 and again May 10 and 11, at 4407 172nd St. NE, in Arlington. For information call 360-618-6340.

• The Immaculate Conception Church Women’s Group will be selling annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and tomato plants at the Arlington City Hall Plaza from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 3, at 238 N. Olympic Ave., in downtown Arlington.

• Hanging baskets, perennials, dahlias, sedums, grasses, shrubs, trees, seeds and hand-decorated garden hats are up for sale at Warm Beach Community Park, 19016 94th Dr. N.W., in the Seven Lakes area of Stanwood from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3. For information call Patricia 360-652-4138.

Fundraisers

• Village Community Services presents Taste of Decadence 6:30 to 9 p.m. May 2 at the Smokey Point Community Church, 17721 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington. Proceeds from the event help north Snohomish County adults with disabilities achieve their highest potential at home, work and in community life.

• The Arlington Boys & Girls Club’s annual dinner and auction Saturday, May 3 raises money for operations at the club, at 18513 59th Ave. NE in Arlington. Swing into Spring

Arlington High School jazz band students invite jazz fans to shine up their dancing shoes and attend their annual Swing into Spring Dessert Dance. which is set for May 9 and 10 at AHS Commons, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., in Arlington, where the school commons is transformed in the Easy G Jazz Club with the smoothest jazz by the most talented musicians at AHS, two desserts and beverages. Tickets are $14 at Copy, Mail and More in Arlington Pharmacy, 526 N. West Ave., and Flowers by George, at 335 N. Golf season begins

• The Senior High Youth Group of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Marysville invites golfers for a day of fun golfing Saturday, May 17 at the first Tourney for Teens fundraiser golf tournament at Dutch Hill Country Club. Three-person team scrambles start with a shotgun at 11 a.m.

• The Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce has announced it’s annual golf tournament is Friday, June 6 at Gleneagle Country Club.
