G.M.A.G. meeting

Greater Marysville Artists’ Guild will have a potluck at its June 3 meeting, the last before a summer break, at 5:30 p.m. at the Red Barn, Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Rd., Marysville. Artists are invited to bring art supplies to get rid of in a mini art garage sale.

Book your audition for Arlington Idol

The entertainment coordinators for the Arlington Street Fair are seeking applicants for the second annual Arlington Idol contest set for 7 p.m., Friday, July 10. Singers, ages 15 and up are encouraged to audition. Auditions will be held on June 4, 11 and 18, from 6:45 – 7 p.m. Candidates should prepare one song, no more than three minutes long. They should bring the music with them on a CD to the audition. The grand prize will be $100 cash, with other prizes to be announced. Singers must book their audition in advance by calling 360-435-7193 at Movement Arts, where the auditions will be held. For directions go to the Web site at www.movementarts.com.

Old Bags offer

trip to Reno

The Old Bags of Arlington has announced they are selling raffle tickets for three days and two nights in Reno or $400 cash. The drawing will be held after the parade July 4, and the prize will be awarded within 24 hours. The trip includes airfare and hotel accomodations. Proceeds benefit many good causes. Cascade Valley Hospital is presenting the Grand Parade again this year and they want the community to know that registration is now being accepted. The Grand Parade starts at 5 p.m. on the Fourth of July, and is preceded this year by the Kiddies Parade on the same route. For information about registration call Kelly Penny at 360-435-2133.

What’s the Fourth of July without fireworks? We may find out if donors don’t cough up some cash to help pay for the show, presented by the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce in the field behind the Arlington Boys & Girls Club.
