Worm composting

A class on worm composting at home will be offered 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Thursday, March 5 at Jennings Memorial Park Barn, 6915 Armar Road, in Marysville. The workshop cost is $20. Pre-registration is required at the Marysville Parks and Recreation Office, 360-363-8400.

Teens challenged to design items from recycled technology

The Arlington Library has announced a challenge to teens to create the best product (jewelry, clothing, art, electronic device, etc.) using old, unused or broken pieces of technology. Designers each use the materials provided by the library or use your own. First-prize winner will receive an iPod Touch. During this initial session, 1 p.m., Saturday, March 14, teens can pick up the contest guidelines and choose materials. The finished product must be submitted by 5 p.m., March 21 and the winner will be announced at a Red Carpet Awards Party 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 27. For teens ages 12 to 18, the project is supported by the Sno-Isle Foundation and Friends of the Arlington Library.

Drawing for youth and adults

Vicki Carver will guide artists ages 7 – 13 to develop their skills in drawing animals, people, flowers, still life and landscapes in a four-week class at the Ken Baxter Senior Community Center, 514 Delta Ave. in Marysville. Classes are Tuesdays from 4:30 – 6 p.m., starting March 3 or 10 – 11:30 a.m., on Saturdays beginning March 7. Cost is $49 and pre-registration is required at Marysville Parks and Recreation Office at 360-363-8400. Carver is offering a four-week class for adults as well on Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8 p.m., beginning March 3.

Spring Break at Camp Killoqua

Camp Killoqua offers two weeks of Spring Break Day Camp for grades 1-8, with games, crafts, boating, archery, songs, teambuilding, hikes, cookouts, bread making, and much more on the camp’s 185 acres in the Seven Lakes Area.
