The Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society has announced a garage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 18 and 19, at 27230 SR 9 NE, Arlington. It’s about a quarter mile north of the Stanwood-Bryant Road and the Bryant Store. Furniture, bedding, toys much more.

Earth Walk Adventure in Marysville

Marysville celebrates Earth Day Saturday, April 19, with a free event for families featuring water-themed exhibits and hands-on activities for young stewards, at Ebey Waterfront City Park in Marysville.

Young stewards will learn how water quality affects aquatic animals like salmon and stream bugs. Participants will learn how to prevent water pollution and strategies for keeping the forests and Puget Sound healthy. Tours of the Marysville Wastewater Treatment Plant start at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. showing what is being done for salmon in the Snohomish River watershed through the Great Marsh Restoration project.

Auction for science

A silent auction, dessert and coffee with open-mic entertainment will provide funds for the Stilly Valley School science club. The auction will be held at Eagle Creek Elementary School from

Musicians perform at Tulip Festival

Voices of the Village, the resident band of Village Community Services, will be performing at the Tulip Festival Street Fair in Mount Vernon April 19 and 20.

This interactive performance ensemble for people of all abilities brings tambourines, shakers and drums for the crowd so everyone can join in. The Arlington group is sharing the stage with a similar group that jams every week in Burlington. Both ensembles are led by professional musician, Jon Dalgarn, of Out of the Ashes. They are scheduled to perform at 11 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday at the Rick Epting Memorial Stage in downtown Mount Vernon. Silvana Community Association has announced Bingo Night starts at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 20 at Viking Hall in downtown Silvana. Admission is $10.

Race against domestic violence

Law enforcement officers will be racing their personal vehicles in a fierce but friendly competition against firefighters and EMTs in the Rapid Intervention Drags to RID domestic violence from 6 – 10 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Evergreen Speedway at Monroe Fairgrounds. Help needed at Taste of Decadence

Volunteers needed for the sixth annual Taste of Decadence fundraiser on May 2, 2008 in Arlington. Volunteer for a 2-5 hour time-frame according to your availability and schedule. Volunteer jobs include table host, decorating, silent auction set up, dessert check in, and clean up. Proceeds from the event will help north Snohomish County adults who have disabilities achieve their highest potential at home, work, and in community life. Arlington Boys & Girls Club dinner, auction

Donations are needed for the 14th annual dinner and auction to raise money for operations at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club. Proceeds support the programing at the club, providing services and activities for youth all year round.

Entries due for Art in the Garden

Arts Council of Snohomish County is accepting submissions for its popular annual exhibit, Art of the Garden, which runs July 10 – August 21. The deadline is May 30 to enter paintings, photographs, sculptures and any other form of art that will enhance the garden or bring the garden into the home.

Artists may submit up to 12 slides or digital images, labeled with artist name, title and dimensions.
