Vistaunet joins group art show in Everett

Marysville artist John Vistaunet is part of a group show of landscapes and figurative works in pastels at the Solovei Art Gallery June 3 – 28. Along with Vistaunet’s outstanding nudes, the show also includes works by Helen Feeney, Janet Hamilton, Karla Matzke and Joe MacKechnie. Marysville artist Joan Penewell and Arlington residents Rocky Barrick, Kent Baker and Rodney Patzer, are accepted in the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild Juried Spring Show at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27130 102nd Ave. NW, Stanwood from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 7 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 8.

Crafton performs

with Silvana

Lloyd Crafton, of Marysville, joins a former resident of Arlington who now lives on Camano Island and runs Blazing Saddles Restauraunt & Lounge in Stanwood, Cookie Spirk and her band, Silvana, to perform some fun dance music at Blazing Saddles June 6 and 7. The band also includes Shavi Fireheart and Kinny Alvers, of Everett. They play a pleasant mix of classic and current country dance music. The parents of the Lake Senior Class of 2008 are sponsoring a Service to be held on Sunday, June 8, 7 p.m., at the Lakewood High School Gymnasium. This is a non-denominational religious service to honor God and the graduating seniors.

Auditions set for

Shakespeare in the Park

The Marysville Community Playhouse Association is holding open auditions June 9 and 10 for an August production of William Shakespeare’s comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The auditions begin at 6 p.m., on the east lawn of the Marysville Public Library, 6120 Grove St. Actors of all ages and levels of experience are invited to audition for the play. Participants will be asked to read selected scenes from the play. The play will be presented at

2 p.m., Aug. 16 on the library lawn, but additional dates may be added. Support crew is also needed for the production. Marysville Community Playhouse Association is a non-profit organization that is working to establish a venue for the performing arts in Marysville. Clay, Fire and Form

The 4th annual Cascade Clay Artists’ exhibit and sale “Clay, Fire and Form” features more than 22 clay artists from the four counties of Northwest Washington at the Gallery at the Depot at 6th and “R” in Anacortes June 6 – 27 with an opening reception from 6 – 9 p.m. June 6. A group-themed project titled “Garden of Earthly Delights” will be sold by silent auction with proceeds from the silent auction to be donated to a scholarship fund for a Skagit Valley College ceramic student. Last years scholarship winner was Jenny Sandbo.

The Cascade Clay Artists are potters, hand builders and sculptors who

share common goals, to explore their development as clay artists and to

Engaged Encounter

Men and women contemplating marriage will benefit from Engaged Encounter at Warm Beach Camp June 6-8. Engaged Encounter is designed to equip couples with the necessary tools to ensure their marriage is one that lasts a lifetime. Musicians wanted for Jazzinators

The Jazzinators is a community jazz ensemble open to all instruments and ability levels. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, June 24 and continue on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through July 15 when a public performance starts at 7 p.m. in Arlington. Call for vendors for Arlington Street Fair July 11, 12 and 13

Crafters, artists, growers, vendors and community groups are wanted for the Arlington Street Fair which is set for July 11, 12 and 13 on the new Olympic Avenue in Arlington. Art in the Barn

Artist members of the Arlington Arts Council will present the fourth annual Art in the Barn in the Yantis hay barn, 12 miles east of Arlington at 20412 SR 530 NE, in Oso, June 21 and 22. With more than 20 artists, the participants include many Stillaguamish Valley painters with images of barns and cows and other local scenes and beyond.
