Arlington hosts Knowledge Bowl

ARLINGTON – The host Arlington Eagles competed against more than 100 Knowledge Bowl teams from around the state Saturday.

With the participants and their families and friends, close t0 1,000 people were on hand.

Arlington scored 69 points so it did not make the final round. Topping their nine-team bracket were Interlake with 112 points and Lakeside with 105. The Eagles finished ahead of Kelso and Lake high schools.

The Arlington team consisted of captain Wyatt Kerschner and fellow seniors Joe Kephart and Johnathon Leon-Guerrero; and juniors Jack Hamilton, Danilo Carrasco and Cole Hahn

They placed 12th in the 3A Division 1 classification. Teams from all school classification sizes participated.

“I’m excited about what we’ll have coming back next year, with a strong group of returning seniors in the Class of ‘19,” advisor Ben Mendro said.
