CAMANO ISLAND — Arlington Arts Council members Kent Baker, Ricky Barrick, Helen Saunders and Norman Kearsley are some of the 134 artists and organizations who are participating in Camano Island’s Arts Festival Art by the Bay July 19 and 20. A Lake Ki resident, Rodney Patzer is also participating.

CAMANO ISLAND — Arlington Arts Council members Kent Baker, Ricky Barrick, Helen Saunders and Norman Kearsley are some of the 134 artists and organizations who are participating in Camano Island’s Arts Festival Art by the Bay July 19 and 20. A Lake Ki resident, Rodney Patzer is also participating.

The 16th annual Art by the Bay offers fine arts and crafts and 12 hours of free live music at Utsalady Elementary School, 608 Arrowhead Rd. on Camano Island.

The featured artist this year is Bev Paulson, a story painter. Each year, the members of the Stanwood-Camano Arts Guild select a piece of artwork submitted by their peers to be used as the poster for the annual Art by the Bay arts festival, held every year on Camano Island on the third weekend of July. Bev Paulson’s watercolor “Booty from the Deep” is this year’s winner.

Paulson is a person with a great sense of humor who is able to infuse that wit into her artwork with a keen sense of form and design.

Music is free all day both days, with Amber Darland, Southend String Band, Pocket Monkey on Saturday and on Sunday, Stilly River Band, Acoustic Detour and One Ton of Trucks.

Along with fine arts and fine crafts, the show also includes plants, garden art, and a variety of food. Community groups include the Stanwood Kiwanis Club, WSU Beachwatchers, the American Association of University Women, the Stanwood-Camano Art Guild and Gayle Picken’s Gallery by the Bay.

Presented by the Stanwood-Camano Arts Guild, the show runs from 10 a.m. to
