Audition judges are Keating, MaryRose Denton and Pam Koons.

They found themselves with tears in their eyes after hearing some of the songs performed at the first audition June 14, Keating said.

“You can tell when they start to sing that they love what they are doing,” Keating said.

“We are looking for local singers who want to share their beautiful voices with the community. You never know what will happen, but if you put it out there, something is sure to come of it,” Keating said.

“We will continue auditions through the end of June.”

Local celebrity judges with arts and entertainment backgrounds will consider audience reactions when deciding who should win the cash prize on the night of the finals. The community is encouraged to enjoy the free music provided through the talents of Arlington’s local residents.

“Along with the prize, there will be the fun of doing it, the joy of local recognition, and who knows, maybe there will be a talent scout out there that night,” Keating said, encouraging more singers to try out.

Auditions will continue by appointment, 6:45 p.m., Thursday evenings.

Singers must be age 16 and above and should bring music on a CD or be prepared to sing without music. Auditioners should schedule appointments at 360-435-7193.
