Dean Rocky Barrick of Arlington has announced that two pieces of his art work have been accepted in the national Paint the Parks tour. His painting of an elf owl, “Do Not Disturb,” and a pencil drawing, ‘Getting Ready to Steam Up’ have been accepted in the Paint the Parks international competition in the category of works less than 180 square inches.

“Only 50 pieces are selected in this category,” Barrick said.

“They will go on a nationwide tour for about a year starting this fall,” said Barrick who has been commissioned by the National Wildlife Association and other national organizations. To qualify for this show, the images had to portray a scene from a national park, monument or historic site. The elf owl is from the Saguaro National Park and the pencil drawing is from Steamtown National Historic Site.
