2 arrests for threats at schools

A 16-year-old was charged last week with misdemeanor cyberstalking.

The ex-student at Arlington High School sent threatening messages on Snapchat, a police report says. He appeared in Snohomish County juvenile court Sept. 27 and was released on conditions set by the judge, including that he stay at least 100 yards from AHS.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that a person who had done something similar at a Marysville school also has been apprehended by authorities.

Marysville woman charged

EVERETT — A Marysville woman has been charged with multiple counts of fraud after turning an Everett motel room into a production line for creating phony bank cards, driver’s licenses and Social Security cards.

The woman, 32, allegedly used another woman’s driver’s license to book the room in January. The defendant also put the victim’s name on a bank card and, in chat conversations, reminded others to refer to her by the victim’s name.

Charging papers list more than a half-dozen potential victims.

The suspect appeared in court Oct. 1. She’s charged with identity theft, forgery and possession of stolen property. Hotel staff notified police when they saw items in the room that could be used for financial fraud, including a bag with 50-plus credit cards.

Police reported she was found in possession of 5.91 grams of meth, along with a metal box with more than $10,000 inside.

Public meeting on RFA set

MARYSVILLE – As Snohomish County Fire District 12 and the city of Marysville continue to consider forming a Regional Fire Authority, residents and business representatives have a second opportunity to learn more about the process, ask questions and offer input.

An RFA Community Conversation is scheduled for Oct. 17, at 4 p.m. at the fire station at 10701 Shoultes Road.

An RFA would enhance efficiencies and provide sustainable funding, supporters say.

If the city and fire district agree on a proposed RFA, voters will decide whether to form one and if so, approve how it is funded.
