ARLINGTON — Sept. 19-20 will mark the third annual Harvest Jubilee at a number of north Snohomish County locations, including Stanwood, Silvana and Arlington, with a Fine Art Show including participating artists throughout the local area.

Camano Island artist Helen Saunders, who’s a member of the Arlington Arts Council, explained that the art show will be divided up into two parts. The first part will be a juried show focused on “Farms, Fields and Foliage,” showcasing works that compliment the harvest theme of the jubilee, while the second part will be “The Harvest of Art,” a show for Camano Arts Association members in which Saunders’ six paintings will appear.

Other Arlington Arts Council members featured in the art show will include Arlington resident Rocky Barrick, submitting his painting “Six-Pack,” and Granite Falls resident Christina Harvey, submitting her painting “Old Cow.” Other Arlington residents featured in the art show will include Ann Davenport, submitting three of her paintings — “The Retreat,” “Path to the Arboretum” and “Springfield Cottage.” Arlington Arts Council member and Arlington resident Paul Nyenhuis will also be playing flute music for the opening of the Harvest Jubilee.

The Angel of the Winds Casino has donated $300 to be awarded to “the best representation of the theme” at the juried show, with a $300 first-place prize donated by the Camano Arts Association, a $200 second-place prize donated by Tri Dee Arts and Crafts of Mount Vernon, and a $100 third-place prize donated by Everett Artist’s Supply and Framing.

The Fine Art Show will display the work of more than 40 artists, in media including watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, as well as glass, pottery and sculpture. It will take place at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, located at 27108 102nd Ave. NW in Stanwood, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. The Harvest Jubilee will also be celebrated at a variety other North Snohomish County locations, including People Helping Horses, located at 24717 43rd Ave. NE in Arlington, and Silvana Crossing, located at the intersection of Larsen Road and Pioneer Highway in downtown Silvana.
