Veterans Day assembly

At the Veterans Day assembly at Pinewood Elementary School Wednesday, students saw a film that shows how those in the military are away from their families – even for important events such as the birth of a baby. It also shows the fun side when the reunion takes place. Veterans in the audience were asked to stand and be recognized. Three work at the school, and a handful of others attended. Some students read a history of Veterans Day. The entire gathering did the Pledge of Allegiance and sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America.” A large choir of students also performed.
