One-man band kicks off kids concerts in Marysville

MARYSVILLE – Eric Haines and his one-man band performed in front of about 100 people at the opening of the Summmer Children’s Concert Series Tuesday.

It had been rained out the previous Wednesday. Ironically, the majority of the audience was in the shade this day.

Haines performed a number of hold tunes, interacted with children through the show – having them play instruments – and then went on to juggle, perform puppetry and even dance on stilts.

The next show will be July 24, also at noon at Jennings Park. It will feature the Brian Waite Band. Their specialty is getting the entire family dancing and feel groovy while exploring funky caves and rockin’ planets.

Recess Monkey will perform the final show in the series Aug. 7. Named one of the top three family bands in America, this Grammy-nominated trio make smart rock and pop music for kids of all ages.
