ARLINGTON — The Rotary Club of Arlington announced and honored itsOctober students of the month from the three school districts in its service area which are Arlington, Darrington and Lakewood.

Each Rotary Student of the Month was awarded a voucher for a $50 donation to a non-profit group at their school or an organization in their local community. Arlington Superintendent and Rotarian Dr. Kris McDuffy presented awards to Lucas Revelle and Jake Lovell at the Rotary meeting on Oct. 14.

Lucas Revelle, a junior at Arlington High School, excels in all the 4A’s: academics, arts, activities and athletics. He is an outstanding scholar who continues with advanced courses, maintains a 3.89 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. A percussionist in the Concert and Symphonic Band, he sings in Jazzmine, and is a multiple sport letterman emphasizing football currently. His goal after graduating is to attend a 4-year university.

Jake Lovell is a well-rounded student at Darrington High School. He pushes himself academically, taking AP classes while maintaining a high GPA. He is currently President of the National Honor Society. Lovell has been a member of the Key Club all four years of high school, working on many road clean-ups and helping with the annual senior citizen Thanksgiving dinner. Currently he is president of the Darrington National Honor Society and is the student representative to the Darrington School Board.

Jackie Stover, an eighth-grader at Lakewood Middle School, is ASB Secretary. Her school pride is demonstrated by the amount of hours she spends working to make LMS a better place for her fellow students. In August, she donated approximately 20 hours of her time to ensure that registration ran smoothly. Most recently, she spent many hours planning and leading her team of leadership students to run the LMS Homecoming spirit assembly. Stover has met standards in all categories on her spring 2010 MSP and is consistently an Honor Roll student.
