Winter graduates PLU
Each year, more than 700 students graduate from Pacific Lutheran University. Among May 2006 graduates was Jamie Winter, who earned a bachelors degree in elementary education. She is the daughter of Jim and Ellen Winter of Arlington, Wash., and a graduate of Arlington High School. Jamie graduated cum laude from PLU.

The university is located six miles south of Tacoma in suburban Parkland, Wash.

Zylstra makes deans list
Deborah Joy Zylstra, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Philip Zylstra of Arlington has been named to the deans list for the spring semester at Wheaton College, Deborah is majoring in geology. Deans list honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher out of 4.0.
Located in suburban Wheaton, Ill., Wheaton is a coeducational Christian liberal arts college noted for its rigorous academics and integration of faith and learning. It is consistently ranked by U.S. News and World Report among the top national liberal arts colleges in the country.

Bradley makes deans list
Kelly J. Bradley of Arlington has been named to the Columbia College deans list for the June session 2006. To be named to the deans list a student must have completed 12 semester hours and achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or greater on a four-point scale.
Columbia College serves 25,000 students at its 32 nationwide campuses, online campus, graduate studies program and day campus. The college was founded in 1851 as Christian Female College and was renamed Columbia College in 1970 when it became coeducational.

UW students earn awards
Vice Provost for Student Life Eric S. Godfrey has announced recipients of the 2006-07 University of Washington Undergraduate Scholar Award Recipients.
The scholarship recipients, who will be freshmen at the University beginning autumn quarter, come from 91 high schools and 70 cities and towns in state, and include two state residents who graduated from high schools located outside Washington.
According to Godfrey, the scholarship winners were chosen from among all resident freshmen admitted to the UW for the 2006 autumn quarter. A variety of factors were considered in making the selections, including high school academic achievement, leadership potential, and civic involvement.

WSU honor roll
The following Washington State University students have earned recognition on the Summer 2006 Presidents Honor Roll, according to the registrars office.
To be eligible for the WSU honor roll, a full-time student must earn a 3.75 grade point average for the semester or have maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
