A $1 million bail has been placed on a 40-year-old Arlington man for his role in an assault that has left a second man clinging to life.

ARLINGTON — A $1 million bail has been placed on a 40-year-old Arlington man for his role in an assault that has left a second man clinging to life.

That second man, also 40, is at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with critical injuries he sustained in an incident between him and the 40-year-old being held, city of Arlington spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said Monday, Dec. 14.

Officers responded to an assault in progress, believed to be between the victim and the Arlington man, at Fourth Street and Olympic Avenue just after 1 a.m. Dec. 12, Banfield said.

The victim was found on the ground and unresponsive, and authorities administered CPR until he was transported to Harborview.

The 40-year-old Arlington man was arrested and detained as a person of interest in the assault, Banfield said.

No charges have been filed as of Tuesday, Dec. 15, according to the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities also arrested the 40-year-old Arlington man’s 21-year-old son on other outstanding warrants.
