Here are some additional tips to help beat the heat:
Stay Cool
Stay indoors as much as possible in an air conditioned environment
Cover windows that receive morning and afternoon sunshine
Wear light-weight clothing
Check-up on relatives and neighbors that are elderly or have special needs
Drink Liquids
Drink plenty of water or other non-alcoholic/non-caffeinated fluids
Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink
If You Go Outside
Limit your exposure to sunlight or wait until the morning/evening hours
Use sunscreen with a high SPF (sun protection factor) rating if you plan to be outside and reapply often (every 2 hours)
Never leave children or pets in a vehicle – even with the windows rolled down
If you’re headed to the Stillaguamish River to float or boat, don’t forget to wear your life jacket.
