Arlington defeats Marysville-Pilchuck 51-27 [VIDEO]

ARLINGTON — The Arlington football team defeated Marysville-Pilchuck 51-27 Oct. 16 in a Wesco 3A North league game.

ARLINGTON — The Arlington Eagles football team defeated the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks  51-27 Oct. 16 in a Wesco 3A North league game.

M-P’s offense drove the ball down the field on a new set of downs from the benefit of a blocked punt on their first possesion that put the ball back into their hands.

M-P quarterback Erik Lind rushed in the first touchdown of the night, but Arlington’s offense eclipsed the Tomahawks’ progress with quarterback Andrew Kallahar finding receiver Donavan Sellgren for three touchdown passes.

The Eagles kept the Tommies off the scoreboard and continued to score more touchdowns into the second half, this time Kalahar conncecting a touchdown pass to Kyle Bayer and Devon Nutter rushing into the endzone.

M-P’s offense put up two consecutive touchdowns in the final half, first by Lind rushing in one and Justin Trueax catching a touchdwon pass from Lind.

Arlington’s Nutter scored the final touchdown of the night.

Arlington’s record is 6-1 and M-P’s is 4-3.

In other local games, Marysville Getchell’s Collin Montez took the Chargers to victory over Everett 31-12 by rushing for 134 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. MG improved its record to 2-5.

Lakewood quarterback Austin Lane threw for 220 yards and a touchdown in the first half of the Cougars’ victory over Sultan 50-21. Teammate Tyler Courtney rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Lakewood’s record is 3-4.

Athlete of the Week, Robert Miles Jr. of Tulalip Heritage, picked up where he left off by catching eight passes for 124 yards and four touchdowns which took the Hawks to a 74-40 win over Naselle.
