ARLINGTON — A family of four has been displaced after a fire ravaged a home in the 20000 block of 67th Drive NE.

Fire crews originally took on offensive approach with the fire, but were forced to remain defensive while extinguishing the blaze during the early morning hours on Sunday, Sept. 5, said Chris Badger, Arlington Fire Department public information officer.

Multiple units from the Arlington department, as well as Fire District 21, Silvana Fire District 19, Marysville Fire District and North County Fire spent several hours putting out hot spots after they responded to the fire.

Badger said that responders initially noticed fire was coming from the front porch, roof and interior of the structure when they arrived just before 1 a.m. Sunday.

Crews from the American Red Cross and Support 46 were on hand to assist the family. No injuries were reported.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshall’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the fire, Badger said.
