ARLINGTON – Arlington and Marysville police are seeking help to identify the suspect in an attempted robbery and robbery at two Subway restaurants Wednesday in Lakewood and Smokey Point.

Arlington police responded to a report of an attempted robbery that happened about 9:50 a.m. at the Smokey Point Subway at 16820 Smokey Point Blvd. Police said the man fled while units were responding.

About 20 minutes later, police were dispatched to a robbery across Interstate 5 at the Lakewood Subway at 17016 Twin Lakes Ave., with a description closely matching the suspect in the previous incident.

Officers from Arlington and Marysville, assisted by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol, were unable to locate the suspect. A K9 unit on the hunt for the man was also unsuccessful.

Police described the man as in his mid-20s, about 6 foot 1 inches with a slender build. He was said to be dressed in black clothing, gloves, mask and hooded sweatshirt with a North Face logo on the chest. Police also shared a surveillance camera image of the man.
