Planning Commission to review expansion plans for Fire Station 46
ARLINGTON — The Arlington Planning Commission will assume its role as Design Review Board at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 (postponed from Tuesday due to Presidents Day) to review the city’s proposal for a remodel and expansion of the Arlington Fire Station no. 46 on MacLeod Street in downtown Arlington.
The proposal is for the development of a new 3,900 square-foot fire station building, new vehicle parking area, and renovations to the existing truck bays at the existing fire station on less than one acre. Ciscoe Morris helps raise funds for flood victims
Peace Lutheran Church has announced that the famous gardener, Ciscoe Morris will speak about gardening and sign copies of his new book, “Ask Ciscoe” in a fundraiser for flood victims set for 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at the church, 1717 Larson Rd. in Silvana. Koster plans breakfast meeting on business
County Councilman John Koster, representing District 5 in north Snohomish County, has announced a Business Roundtable, “Common Values, Common Sense” to discuss the root causes of the economic dilemma and how to get out of it, with guest speaker Bob Williams, the founder and president of the Evergreen Freedom Foundation. The breakfast is 7 – 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Monte Cristo Hotel, 1507 Wall St., in Everett

Hotline for illegal discharges, spills
The city of Arlington’s storm water department has established a 24-hour hotline for reporting illegal discharges and spills, in accordance with its Department of Ecology Phase II stormwater permit, said Ken Clarke, the city’s stormwater technician. The hotline is for reporting releases or spills such as paint, small fuel or oil spills, illegal dumping or especially muddy water being discharged into the city’s stormwater system and other non-emergency situations. Calls to the 24-hour hotline, 360-403-4600, will be responded to during working hours only. Emergencies must be reported at 9-1-1.
Blood drive at Highland Christian School
Puget Sound Blood Center will hold a blood drive at Highland Christian School, 135 S. French St., from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 with a lunch break from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. They will be in the second floor commons area. For information call 1-800-398-7888.
