Arlington police arrest two in overnight burglary

ARLINGTON – At about 2:20 a.m. March 5, Arlington police responded to an alarm at the country club restaurant at Gleneagle Golf Course.

When they arrived, officers saw two men inside committing what appeared to be a burglary.

After police announced their presence, one suspect, 22, ran out of the building, police spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said. He was taken into custody.

The second suspect, 27, barricaded himself in a bathroom and refused to come out, Banfield said. Officers had to breach the bathroom door, and used both pepper spray and a Taser to take him into custody. The Lynnwood Police K-9, Marysville police and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

Both men were booked into Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of burglary in the second degree.
