Arlington seeking volunteers for PARC, Library Board

ARLINGTON — The city of Arlington is looking for volunteers to fill a vacancy on the Parks, Arts and Recreation Commission, as well as the Library Board.

ARLINGTON — The city of Arlington is looking for volunteers to fill a vacancy on the Parks, Arts and Recreation Commission, as well as the Library Board.

The Parks, Arts and Recreation Commission provides support and advice to the Mayor and City Council on parks, arts and recreation issues facing the city of Arlington. Persons interested in serving on the PARC must live within the urban growth area of Arlington. The Commission consists of seven members, each serving a four-year term. The Commission meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday of every month, in the Arlington City Council Chambers, located at 110 E. Third St. The city currently has one vacancy to fill on the PARC.

The Library Board consists of five members, each serving a five-year term. Meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. quarterly on Thursdays in the City Council Chambers. Board members must be residents of Arlington. The Library Board provides support and advice to the Mayor and the City Council on the planning, management, use, care and disposition of the Arlington Library’s property, equipment and physical facilities, as well as the policies, rules and regulations pertaining to the use of the library and its facilities, in addition to the budget, administration, scope and quality of library resources and services provided to the city of Arlington by Sno-Isle libraries. The Board also represents the interests of the city by advising the Sno-Isle Regional Library System on policies for the development of the Arlington Library’s collection, the use of the library, and the scope and quality of service provided.
