Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber installs new board members

SMOKEY POINT — The Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce installed its 2011 Board of Directors at its Jan. 11 luncheon. The installation of the Board members and officers was the first order of business at its noon luncheon at the Medallion Hotel in Smokey Point.

The installation of the Board members and officers was the first order of business at its noon luncheon at the Medallion Hotel in Smokey Point.

Jesica Stickles of Stickles Press was named the Chamber’s new president, while Katie Stevens of AFLAC and Farmers Insurance was named its vice president. Stepping in as the Chamber’s new secretary was Heather Logan of Cascade Valley Hospital, while Brad Giles of Witsoe, Haug and Associates was named its treasurer.

Outgoing Chamber President Julie Morse of Cascade Bank not only became this year’s Past President, but was also honored by Chamber Executive Director Michael Prihoda for her service to the Arlington and Smokey Point business communities, along with outgoing Chamber Treasurer Simona DeVries, and outgoing Downtown Arlington Business Association President Mary Anderson, Vice President Marilyn Bullock and Secretary Marian Ferguson. Bullock and Ferguson were unable to attend the event.

Prihoda also swore in the 2011 DABA officers that day, including Debora Nelson of Photographic Journeys as the new DABA president, Nola Smith of Pacific Learning Solutions as DABA’s vice president, Debbie Whitis of “The Purse Lady” as its secretary and Julie Tate of Julie’s Barber and Styling Salon as treasurer.

Nelson and Smith were likewise sworn in that day as Chamber Board directors, along with Sid Logan of the Arlington School District, David Kuhl of the city of Arlington, David Mathieson of State Farm Insurance, Steve Griffith of Arlington Appraisal Service, Dennis Haddock of the Lakewood School District and Renae James of Hometown Values Magazine. Fellow Chamber Board directors Barbara Tolbert of the Arlington Fly-In, John Cronin of the Angel of the Winds Casino and Scott Derr of Instant Color Garden Center were unable to attend the event.
