ARLINGTON — Sound Salmon Solutions and the city of Arlington are teaming up to plant native trees and shrubs at the community’s new stormwater wetland on Nov. 12.

Between 80-100 volunteers of all ages will be needed between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day. While they should dress for the weather, event organizers will provide tools, water and lunch.

Along the way, volunteers will learn what a stormwater wetland does, which native trees and shrubs should be planted in one, and what types of birds and other wildlife will make it their habitat.

This family-friendly event is open to the public and promises not only lunch in the Roundhouse, but also booths and displays by local organizations.
