EVERETT — A 24-year-old Arlington woman was killed Oct. 10, and her passenger, a 31-year-old Everett man, was critically injured after a crash on northbound I-5 near the Everett mall.

Jourdan B. Bradley, 24, was driving a 1969 Corvette Stingray convertible when she lost control and struck a tree at 1:25 p.m., Washington State Patrol trooper Mark Francis said.

She died at the scene as the Corvette was sheared in half. She was a nurse for Everett Medical Center and was in the process of moving to Everett. Her father was following about eight cars behind her.

Anyone who witnessed what happened or who may be able to identify the fleeing driver should call detectives at 360-654-1141.

Francis said witnesses told investigators the Corvette was racing with a white or silver Chevrolet SUV or a pickup with a canopy. The driver of that vehicle, described as a young white man, could face felony vehicular homicide charges. Witnesses said that driver stopped after the crash, backed up to look at the scene, then left.

The passenger was in surgery Oct. 10, and was listed in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

State Patrol detectives used technical equipment to create a digital diagram of the scene, but speed calculations were not immediately available.

The crash caused backups on northbound I-5, stretching from Everett to the south county line.
