ARLINGTON — The city of Arlington is staging another “Neighborhood Corps” meeting on Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Arlington Airport conference room, located at 18204 59th Dr. NE.

The meeting’s agenda will include the introduction of Arlington Fire Chief Bruce Stedman, a presentation on the potential destructiveness of an earthquake at the South Whidbey fault, an updated report on crimes in the area, tips on how to organize a neighborhood in preparation for emergencies or disasters, showcasing “model neighborhoods” that could serve as examples for such neighborhood organizations to follow, and a vote on the Neighborhood Corps’ slogan. According to Christine Badger, the Neighborhood Corps needs this slogan for city ambassador and Neighborhood Corps T-shirts.

“The slogan should be just a few words about Arlington, neighborhoods, civility and public safety,” said Badger, the community emergency management coordinator for the city of Arlington, the Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics, and the Arlington School District. “The slogan winner will receive an exquisite city of Arlington prize package.”
