ARLINGTON — The city of Arlington is seeking volunteers to serve on its Airport Commission and Library Board.

The Airport commission, which consists of seven members who each serve a three-year term, provides support and advice to the Mayor and City Council on projects and issues regarding the Arlington Municipal Airport.

In order to serve on the Airport Commission, volunteers must live within the city limits of Arlington.

The commission meets once per month at the airport office, located at 18204 59th Drive NE.

Volunteers on the five-member Library Board help guide the Mayor and the City Council on decisions relating to planning, management, use, care and disposition of the library-related issues, budgets, facilities and services.

The Arlington Public Library serves as part of Sno-Isle Libraries, and the Board advises the organization on its policies as they relate to the Arlington branch.

Board members serve five-year terms and also must reside in Arlington. Meetings are held four times per year in the Arlington City Council Chambers.

Residents interested in serving on either group can download applications on the city’s Web site at www.arlingtonwa.gov or pick up an application at City Hall (238 North Olympic Avenue) or the airport office.
