Marysville United Methodist Church sponsors Marysville’s “Kloz 4 Kidz.” This is a free clothing center for the kids of Marysville who are in need. Appointments are requested by phone 360-659-8521.

Free Breakfast

A Free Breakfast is served each Wednesday from 8 – 10 a.m. at Hosanna Christian Fellowship, 401 N. Dunham, in Arlington. All are welcome. This breakfast program is provided by four community churches. Anyone wishing to help with this program should call 360-403-0995.

Soroptimist candy sale Feb. 13-14

The Marysville Soroptimist annual See’s Candies sale takes place just in time to help people shop for Valentine’s Day while also supporting local students.

The Craft Mart at 233 Marysville Mall will be hosting the sale, Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Feb. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chocolates will be sold for $5 for each container, and all proceeds will go to Marysville Soroptimist scholarships.

How to help your eight-grade student select a “learning community” from the options available in the Marysville School District will be held Wednesday Feb. 11 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Cedarcrest library. This meeting will give parents the chance to ask questions in order to help them wisely advise their children as the students select high school classes.

Learn the Art

of Origami

One Day Workshop

Learn the basic folds of the Japanese art form of Origami. This 2-hour workshop is a great and affordable escape. Start off making simple cranes and move up to more intricate projects. European Pastry Classes

Chef Michael Aspen will be tantalizing the taste buds in his European Pastry series. Trained at Le Cordon Blue London Culinary Institute, chef Aspen brings four classes in which he will teach patisserie basics including: Pate a Choux, Gateau and Genoise, Pate Feuiletee, Crème Patasserie, ect. The first class Pate Feuiletee & Crème Patisserie will take place on Monday, Feb. 9 from 6:00-7:30pm. Classes are $30 per session or $100 for all four sessions if booked at the same time. First Aid and CPR Training

Marysville Parks and Recreation is offering certification for Basic First Aid and CPR. First aid classes will cover initial assessment, EMS activation, standard precautions, burn care, bleeding, shock, sudden illness, heat/cold emergencies, dislocations and fractures as well as specific body injuries. CPR classes teach the chain of survival, activation of EMS, emergency response, understanding what CPR is, manikin practice of CPR, and choking. Both First Aid and CPR courses meet requirements for DSHS, WISHA, OSHA, and L&I. Basic First Aid will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 5:45-9:00pm and CPR will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 6:00-9:00pm.
