Rotary/Gail Jubie Fundraiser

Organizers are collecting items for the Gail Jubie Memorial Marysville Food Bank Fundraiser from April 5 through April 26. This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Marysville Food Bank. Cash donations are accepted along with almost all household goods. Exceptions include used electronics and used mattresses. Drop items for donation at the Marysville Judd and Black store on State Avenue, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and receive a receipt for a tax deduction. Rotary Scholarship

Marysville Rotary Club Scholarship Applications are now available online at www.marysvillerotary.org. Select “Education Foundation” to access the form. Old Time Fiddlers

The Old Time Fiddlers meets on the Friday evenings of April 11 and 25, May 9 and 23, at the old Arlington High School, 135 S. French St., Arlington. YMCA Healthy Kids Day

Snohomish County kids and families are urged to “Put play in your day” at YMCA Healthy Kids Day. The YMCA is committed to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. On Saturday, April 12, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., the YMCA of Snohomish County will host its 17th Healthy Kids Day event in support of its efforts to deliver on the pledge. Daughters of Norway

The YWCA Benefit Luncheon

Knight Shred

The Arlington Immaculate Conception Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 8015 are sponsoring a “Document Shred” on Saturday, April 19, 1 – 4 p.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church lower parking lot, 1200 E. 5th, Arlington. There will be a Commercial Shredding Truck available to shred any sensitive papers, available on the first Saturday after Tax Day. There is no need to remove staples or do any sorting. Birding Adventure

Marysville Parks and Recreation is proud to present this one day floating excursion on Sunday, April 20. A naturalist river guide will treat you with tales of local history, spot a variety of birds and enjoy a voyage of discovery through the Skagit Estuary into the Swinomish Channel and the historic town of La Conner. Van ride back to Marysville with a firsthand view of the lovely Skagit Valley Tulip Fields. This full day adventure begins at Marysville City Hall at 8 a.m. and returns at 5 p.m. The cost of the trip is $65 including a box lunch or $55 if you choose to pack your own lunch. Taste of Decadence

Donations, table hosts and volunteers are needed for the sixth annual Taste of Decadence fundraiser set for May 2, 6:30 – 9 p.m. at the Smokey Point Community Church, 17721 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington. Volunteers may sign up for one- to four-hour shifts for table host, decorating, silent auction set up, dessert check in, greeter and clean up. Volunteer Training

Adults living in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities and adult family homes throughout Snohomish County are in need of a volunteer ombudsman, who can serve as an advocate, educator, investigator and problem solver on their behalf. The Snohomish County Long Term Care Ombudsman Program offers a four-day training session June 4, 6, 10 and 12. Volunteers must be present each day and once certified, are asked to help four hours a week at an assigned long-term care facility. The Snohomish County Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is part of a statewide program and protects the rights of residents of long-term care facilities (adult family homes, boarding homes and nursing homes) and empowers residents and their families to advocate for high-quality and compassionate care. Kickball for Adults

Registration begins in May; games are in June and July. Bring back the joys of childhood. Round up friends and co-workers and hit up the field this summer with the Marysville Parks and Recreation Kickball League. The season will consist of a six game regular season and a single elimination tournament. All 55 minute or seven-inning games will be played at the M-PHS Softball Fields. Poochapalooza

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 12, at the Totem Middle School ’s Asbery Field, 1605 Seventh Street. Sponsored by the Marysville Dog Owners Group (M-DOG) with assistance from Marysville Parks and Recreation. Admission is free. Donations greatly welcomed, with proceeds used to support development of the city’s first off-leash dog park and to support M-DOG in its endeavor to advocate on behalf of dog owners and pet-related issues. Dozens of pet vendor booths, regional flying disc championships, Flyball demonstrations, Emerald City K-9 Freestyle Dog Dancing demonstrations and many fun “best in show” contests round out a great day for dogs and their owners. Track and Field Meet Series

Thursday evenings, July 24 and 31 and Aug. 7 and 14 at M-PHS Stadium. Fun for the entire family. Marysville Parks and Recreation is proud to present the All-Comers Track and Field Meet. Participants of all ages can lace up their running shoes and come out for a good time. Field events include long jump, standing long jump, softball throw, shot put and high jump. The running events are 50m hurdles, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 50m, 100m, 800m, joggers mile, 200m, 400m, 1600m and a 400m relay. All events are broken into age divisions. North Sound Memory Walk
