SNOHOMISH COUNTY — County health officials announced on Wednesday, Nov. 4, that all mass H1N1 vaccination clinics scheduled for November have been cancelled.

Limited supplies of vaccine will instead be diverted to participating Snohomish County medical providers whose patients are at “high risk” of complications from H1N1 influenza, according to a county release.

The Snohomish County Health District began distributing vaccine to participating doctors’ offices Nov. 4, starting with providers who are registered with the state Vaccine for Children program.

The release said private practices will not charge for the vaccine, but may charge an administrative fee for each dose.

Health officials will be monitoring the supply of dosage in the upcoming weeks, and have not ruled out holding additional mass vaccination clinics later this year, the release said.

Vaccine will still be offered through the district to pregnant women; all persons ages 6 months through 24 years; health care workers; teachers; professional child care providers; household caregiver contacts of children younger than 6 months and persons ages 25-64 with underlying medical conditions.

The health district offers the clinics in Everett and Lynnwood.
