ARLINGTON Paul Ellis, Terry Marsh and Vic Ericson were honored at the Oct. 1 Arlington City Council meeting for their work on the North Olympic Avenue Reconstruction Project.
Ellis, the citys capital projects manager, was cited by City Council member Sally Lien for his management of the project, noting his meticulous research, budgeting and structuring.
Your ability to successfully oversee and complete this project through its obstacles and challenges is a testament to the manager you have become, Lien said.
City Council member Marilyn Oertle complimented Marsh, the citys assistant capital projects manager, on his experience, attention to detail and personal interactions with both contractors and staff.
Always available, early on the job, working side-by-side, we could always count on you to be there with a smile on your face, Oertle said.
Like Ellis and Marsh, the citys economic development manager, Ericson, was credited with extending professionalism and courtesy to the community of merchants and business owners in downtown Arlington, both before and during the project.
Your expertise in leadership, problem solving and incredible people skills saw us through impossible odds and into huge success stories that will long be a part of our heritage, said City Council member Chris Raezer.
Your working relationships and daily presence downtown throughout this process has left a positive impression on the city of Arlington, which makes me very proud, said Arlington Mayor Margaret Larson.
While Marsh offered a simple thanks, Ellis and Ericson were more expressive.
I appreciate this, but we all did it, Ellis said. This was a team effort, between the merchants, the City Council and staff, and the contractors. I just pointed out what needed to be done.
Im humbled and embarrassed to be receiving this, when guys like Terry were out on the street, every single day, Ericson said. This project was the best it could be and Ive never been involved in a project like this, as an economic development manager, thats been such a success.
