Food, toy drives are great success

The Cascade Valley Hospital, Support 46, and Fire District 19 Food and Toy Drive was a big success, reports firefighter and emergency medical technician Tori McBride, who also volunteers with Support 46. The collaboration of efforts resulted in 375 pounds of food, 34 items of clothing, 287 toys, 29 baby items, 52 stuffed animals and 57 miscellaneous items. All this came from the drive at the hospital, McBride said, while thanking everyone who donated, especially the Arlington Fire Department and its Santa Run, the North County Fire and EMS Food & Toy Drive, Support 46 Food & Toy Drive and firefighter Chris Meshke for sitting in for Santa. She also thanked Wellers Family Restaurant and OBriens Turkey House as well as the entire community for its support.
