Giving back to community

From left, Casey Zachary, Kaitlyn Botten, Alexa Chase, Kiana Smith, Veronica Ladines, Lynsey Amundson, Anna Whitehouse are members of the Crusaders U14 fast-pitch softball team, who helped organize clothing for spring at Kids Kloset in Arlington as part of their mission to give back to the community. U14 team members not pictured are Kaylee Aune, Kristin Backstrom, Arianna Barrio, Alexa Blakey, Anna Larson, Katelyn McDonald, Kirsten Willis. The Crusaders U12 and U14 teams are comprised of girls from Arlington, Lakewood and Marysville, and they are busy paying back the generosity of the community. Some of the girls were part of the Stilly Valley Little League softball team who earned third-place title at regionals in 2007. Along with their service to Kids Kloset, they also volunteered last fall to unload many crates of pumpkins in the field at “Pumpkins for Literacy” a program sponsored by the Marysville Rotary Club, and in December 2008, they helped Santa Claus collect food donations during Arlington’s Santa Run.
