Wreathes for sale

• Arlington Kiwanis Club sells wreathes around town to raise funds for its mission to support youth in the community. For information call George at 360-435-5789.

• Quilceda Community Services is selling handcrafted fresh mixed evergreen wreaths to help fund its programs. Made of noble and Douglas firs, cedars, ornamental evergreens, various hollies, junipers and rosehips, each wreath is a unique creation. They cost $25 to $35 and must be reserved in advance at 360-653-2324.

Food drives

• Olympic Place Retirement & Assisted Living will be collecting food for the Arlington Food Bank during November. Olympic Place Retirement is located at 20909 Olympic Pl. in Arlington. The Arlington Food Bank is seeking canned protein, canned fruit and any other non-perishable food items. Olympic Place is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Haggen Food & Pharmacy in Arlington is collecting food for the Arlington Food Bank through the next seven weeks until Christmas. A trailer will be parked in the parking lot for food donations. A Giving Tree will be installed the day after Thanksgiving. The new manager at the store is Matt Johnson and he is making a spare room available to the community for meetings. Tulalip Dress Barn collects toys

The Dress Barn at Seattle Premium Outlets is launching its first Toys for Tots drive Dec. 8 – 12, when the store’s customers will be encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys. To show their thanks, the store will give donors a 15 percent coupon off a regular priced item, said Lois Maathuis, District Sales Manager for the local store.

“We want to spread that holiday cheer to those who are in need, and this initiative really helps us to do that,” Maathuis said.

The Toys for Tots program helps disadvantaged children in the United Statesexperience the joy of Christmas.

Cycle Barn collects clothes for kids

The Cycle Barn MotorSports Group, with an outlet at Smokey Point Cycle Barn off I-5 at Smokey Point, collects donations for Clothes for Kids and Northwest Harvest.

Clothes for Kids can use new or gently used clothing, new socks and underwear, and cash donations, whereas Northwest Harvest can use non-perishable food or cash. Food items such as oatmeal, whole grain pastas, brown rice, tomato products, and canned good are particularly useful.

Items can be dropped off at Smokey Point Cycle Barn, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
