SMOKEY POINT — Jake’s House Prayer & Worship Center, located in Suite 105 at 18824 Smokey Point Blvd., is looking to restart its on-again, off-again food bank program on Friday, Dec. 13, from 12:30-2:30 p.m., and continue it every Friday at the same time, through the winter holidays and beyond.

“We’ll also be collecting Christmas donations of clothes and toys for area families in need through the end of the month,” said Jaymi Graham, one of the coordinators of the reborn food bank at Jake’s House. “We’re starting off with four volunteers, but we’re looking to get more, and the whole church will be involved in helping out our efforts, in various ways.”

Jake’s House will serve as the site for the food bank’s distribution, but because Jake’s House has no refrigerator or freezer storage, Graham asked that those who wish to donate food items stick to non-perishable food items, such as canned goods.

“There’s no qualifications or registration required to receive food from us,” Graham said. “It’s pressure-free. There’s no preaching, either, unless you want it, and if you do, we have a whole prayer team standing by, ready to serve your needs. We want to serve as many as are in need, because we’re here to serve Our Lord God.”
