MARYSVILLE – The Marysville parks department is having to cancel many upcoming events over the next 60 days until May 16 because of Gov. Jay Inslee’s edict limiting gathering sizes due to the coronavirus COVID-19.

One recreational activity still going on is at Cedarcrest Golf Course. Some guidelines are in place, such as limiting the number of people in the pro shop at one time, to keep golfers save.

The Bleachers Restaurant, which like all eateries is closed due to the mandate, is offering a to-go menu to stay afloat.

Parks director Tara Mizell said city rentals used for weddings and parties are having to be canceled.

“It’s so far reaching, it’s crazy,” she said.

All city classes are canceled or postponed. Baxter Community Center is closed.
