MARYSVILLE – Hundreds of Marysville residents got rid of tons of stuff as part of the city’s free Clean Sweep Saturday.
Many city employees worked the five-hour event, emptying trucks and cars filled with everything but the kitchen sink.
The city does this each year to encourage residents to spring clean; they save money by not having to take junk to the dump.
Items dumped off included garbage, yard waste, appliances, scrap metal, tires, batteries, electronics, etc.
Other items were taken to donate elsewhere, such as clothes, household items, furniture, sports equipment and toys.
