John B. Lidell

John B. Lidell

Army Reserve Pvt. John B. Liddell III has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Liddell studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

Liddell is the son of John and Mable Liddell of 230th Place SW, Mountlake Terrace, Wash.

The private is a 2006 graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School.

David B. Carlson

Army Pvt. David B. Carlson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Carlso studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

Carlson is the grandson of Mary L. Shaffer and the son of Lorie Pimentel of Grandview Road, Arlington, Wash.

Carlson is a 2005 graduate of Arlington High School.

Meghan J. Carey

Air Force Airman Meghan J. Carey has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, Carey studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

In addition, by completing basic training, Carey earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is the daughter of Pennie and David Carey of Place N.E., Arlington, Wash.

Carey is a 2004 graduate of Arlington High School.

Anna C. Kinney

Army Pvt. Anna C. Kinney has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Kinney studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

She is the daughter of Kevin Kinney of E. Fourth St., Arlington, Wash.

Kinney graduated in 2006 from Weston High School, Arlington.

Jeremy A. Case

Air Force Airman Jeremy A. Case has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, Case studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

In addition, by completing basic training, he earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Case earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Sylvia Fowler of Totem Park Lane, Arlington, Wash.

Case is a 2005 graduate of Lakewood High School, Arlington.

Kyle C. Denike

Air Force Airman Kyle C. Denike has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, Denike studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

He is the son of Patrick and Barbara Denike of Mountain Drive, Arlington, Wash.

Mart T. Richardson

Air Force Airman Mart T. Richardson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, Richardson studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

In addition, by completing basic training he earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Lynn and stepson of Randy Eddy of 164th St. N.W., Stanwood, Wash.

Richardson is a 2003 graduate of Lakewood High School, Arlington, Wash.

Torry J. Jennings

Army Pvt. Torry J. Jennings has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, Jennings studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat and field maneuvers and tactics.

He is the nephew of Debbie Gurtin of Jim Creek Road, Arlington, Wash.

Joshua D. Nicholson

Air Force Airman Joshua D. Nicholson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, Nicholson studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

In addition, by completing basic training, he earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Patricia Nicholson of Seventh Place S.E., Everett, Wash.

Nicholson is a 2007 graduate of Weston High School, Arlington.

Matthew B. Krell

Air Force Airman Matthew B. Krell has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, Krell studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

In addition, by completing basic training, he earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Tami Krell of 79th Drive N.E., Arlington, Wash.

Krell is a 2006 graduate of Arlington High School.

John C. Branthoover

Army National Guard Sgt. John C. Branthoover has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to military operations involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalition forces participating in efforts to free and secure Iraq. Mission objectives focus on force protection, peacekeeping, stabilization, security and counter-insurgency operations as the Iraqi transitional governing bodies assume full sovereign powers to govern the peoples of Iraq.

Members from all branches of the U.S. military and multinational forces are also assisting in rebuilding Iraq’s economic and governmental infrastructure, and training and preparing Iraqi military and security forces to assume full authority and responsibility in defending and preserving Iraq’s sovereignty and independence as a democracy.

Branthoover, a military police member with 19 years of military service, is assigned to the 40th Military Police Company, Los Alamitos, Calif.

He is the son of John M. and Eleanor E. Branthoover of Eaglefield Drive, Arlington, Wash.
