National Weather Service issues Flood Watch for Stillaguamish River

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Flood Watch for Western Washington which includes the Stillaguamish River at Arlington. The Flood Watch will be in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Flood Watch for Western Washington which includes the Stillaguamish River at Arlington. The Flood Watch will be in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Stillaguamish River at Arlington is forecast to crest at 13.8 feet later this morning. Flood Stage is 14.0 feet.

Rivers were still rising this morning and could possibly reach Flood Stage. The rises on rivers were caused by heavy rain that fell overnight.

If the Stillaguamish River reaches Flood Stage, minor flooding can be expected.

A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but flooding is not imminent or occurring. Monitor the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service and be ready to act quickly if flooding is observed or a warning is issued.
