The new bridge on Smokey Point Boulevard south of Island Crossing is now open and the detour sign is gone. The county project widened a very hazardous narrow bridge less than a mile south of SR 530. The road opened to traffic Sept. 16, more than a week earlier than the projected date of Sept. 25.
