ARLINGTON A gathering of local aviation enthusiasts convened at the Arlington Airport on Friday Nov. 16 to celebrate the launch of a new plane for Out of the Blue Aviation. The introduction of the Cesna 172 was a hit as community members gathered to inspect the plane and enjoy appetizers and drinks.
We all like wine and we all like cheese, said Cathy Mighell, its a good excuse to come out and celebrate.
The Cesna will be used by the flight school as a training plane. Head pilot instructor John Pierson was pleased with the new model.
The new Cesna has all the latest technology, said Pierson, its got integrated electronic panels, a mini-television screen, as well as XM-satellite radio.
The Cesna 172 can read terrain ahead, judge weather, and detect the wind speed and direction at different altitudes.
All the instruments help a pilot avoid trouble, said Pierson. There are a lot of great benefits to this plane.
More than 30 guests came to see for themselves and inspect the new plane.
