ARLINGTON — Drivers will notice new speed limit signs on State Route 531 through Arlington.

The Washington State Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit on SR 531, between Smokey Point Boulevard and 67th Avenue NE, from 50 to 35 miles per hour.

The new lower speed limit more accurately reflects the current roadway conditions, and will connect with two other segments that are already 35 miles per hour.
