MARYSVILLE – The only local political forum before the Aug. 6 primary election will take place at 6:30 p.m. July 23 at the Red Curtain Arts Center.

City Council and mayoral candidates will speak.

Only one race involves enough candidates to be on the primary ballot. That is for Position 5 on the council with candidates: Jeff Seibert, Noah Rui, Kelly Richards, Gary Kemp and Todd Fahlman.

The top two vote-getters advance to the November general election.

Also speaking will be mayoral candidates Jon Nehring and Mike Patrick, Position 6 council seat opponents Katherine Iverson and Stephen Muller, and Kamille Norton, who is unopposed.

The candidates will talk about their experience in the first hour, with questions from the audience planned for the second half of the forum. An informal reception will follow.

The center is located at 9315 State Ave. #J..

The event is hosted by Indivisible Marysville, a grassroots progressive organization.
