ARLINGTON — After much discussion regarding the landslide in Oso on Saturday, March 22, the Arlington Drug Awareness Coalition has decided that it’s best to postpone its “Out of the Shadows” community event, which had been scheduled for Wednesday, March 26.

“Due to the continuous updates on the devastation and the sadness this has brought to our community, to proceed with the event when hearts are already this heavy may be difficult to do,” said Andrea Conley, public information coordinator for the Arlington School District. “We feel this is a necessary move, especially with all of the emergency service and health professionals who are involved and have priorities that may need more immediate attention, in attending to victims and loved ones.”

“Out of the Shadows” has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. for the resource fair and 7 p.m. for the presentation.

The event will be take place at the Byrnes Performing Arts Center, located at 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd. in Arlington.
