Cascade Valley Hospital Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center staff receive a 'Center for Excellence' award for 2013.
CVH Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicince Center earns...

ARLINGTON — The Cascade Valley Hospital Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center has received recognition as a “Center for Excellence” for 2013. This award indicates that the center has achieved outstanding patient outcomes for the last 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction of more than 92 percent, and a minimum 91 percent wound healing rate, within 30 median days to heal. The Cascade Valley Hospital Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center is the only wound care facility in Washington state to be awarded this honor.

United Way gives $45K to send Darrington kids...

In a continuing effort to address the needs of families impacted by the State Route 530 flood and mudslide, United Way is partnering with two highly regarded local organizations. Up to $24,750 will help Camp Fire USA’s Snohomish County Council, to send 50 children from Darrington to Camp Killoqua this summer. Another $20,000 will help the North Sound Society of St. Vincent de Paul distribute full sets of new, pre-packaged household items to people who lost their homes in the March 22 mudslide.

OSO — Another week of steady incremental progress in recovery work at the site of the Oso mudslide was highlighted by President Barack Obama confirming reports from Gov. Jay Inslee, U.S. Rep. Shooting in Arlington turns to homicide investigation

ARLINGTON — Shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, the Arlington Police Department was dispatched to a residence in the 6800 block of 188th Street NE, for reports of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 26-year-old Arlington woman with a gunshot wound to the head, and requested immediate medical attention by the Arlington Fire Department. The victim was transported by Arlington Fire personnel to the Arlington Municipal Airport, for airlift to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle by an awaiting Airlift Northwest helicopter.

OSO — The Oso mudslide recovery effort received some welcome news on Wednesday, April 2, when President Obama approved a major disaster declaration for not only Snohomish County, but also the Stillaguamish, Tulalip and Sauk-Suiattle tribes. However, its progress continues to be measured at an incremental pace, two weeks after the disaster which swept across State Route 530 and the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River.
