The Arlington City Council will consider on Monday, Oct. 21, whether to approve a 10 percent petition for annexation, for approximately 42.77 acres located on the northeast side of the city of Arlington.
As the Nov. 5 deadline to turn in general election ballots approaches, the Arlington City Council candidates continue to try to get their messages out to the public.

ARLINGTON — The Arlington City Council voted on Monday, Oct. 7, to lower the speed limit to a consistent 35 miles per hour on 172nd Street NE, between Interstate 5 and State Route 9, but motorists who commute on that road will still see a posted speed limit of 50 miles per hour between 67th and 43rd avenues for a little while yet.

ARLINGTON — At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, Arlington Police Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash that was discovered by a concerned motorist, who observed tire tracks leading off Burn Road, became concerned, and found that a vehicle was overturned in a ravine adjacent to the 20300 block of Burn Road.
Marysville and Arlington are among the seven cities in Snohomish County that will benefit from a total of $460,000 in county funds to upgrade their local parks, with improvements ranging from trails to gazebos to lighting.
SMOKEY POINT — The Arlington Kiwanis Club installed their officers for the coming year and presented their distinguished citizen award to Glen Zachry of Cuz Concrete during their annual banquet at the Medallion Hotel in Smokey Point on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
