This letter is to thank the Marysville Fire Department. We had an accident involving our 2-year-old grandson. The fire department/medic unit was so fast in responding to our 911 call. When they arrived, they were so thorough and re-assuring.
The front-page article of Feb. 27, Local Tax Hike Highest in County, I believe is misleading. The article suggests the increase in residential property taxes was due in large part to school levies. In reviewing my yearly real estate tax summaries from the Snohomish County Treasurer, I see the levy rate has actually decreased, while the assessed value of land increased dramatically and buildings somewhat less dramatically.
Earth Hour
I write in response to Mark Griswolds letter dated Oct. 24, 2007. Were you at the kick off breakfast that Ken Hutcherson spoke at Mr. Griswold? I was there and there was no mention of the gay issue. What Ken spoke on was adoption, which is an issue very close to the hearts of both Tom Greene and Ken Hutcherson.
I recall that if you put a frog in a pan of water on the stove, it wont jump out even though it is being cooked and eventually dies.
Welcome to the neighborhood
My heart goes out to the pet owners around the country whose pets have been made sick and sometimes killed by contaminated wheat gluten from China. To see any living creature, especially a much-loved one, suffering is a painful experience for anyone.
Ive been working with Tom Greene for Sheriff for more than a year now. Ive found that hes the only candidate that actually has the ability, knowledge and credentials to step into the Sheriffs Office on day one and start work.
Mr. John Burbank states in his editorial in the Everett Herald, Wednesday, Nov. 15, that Initiative 933 was a choice between greed and public good. I resent that implication. I stand to lose several acres of land I purchased some 50 years ago that has a beautiful creek running through the middle of it.
Emotions ran high for the Lakewood Cougars in their Oct. 23 matchup with the Coupeville Wolves. For 13 graduating seniors, the game marked the last time they would play a regular season game together at home. Most of the seniors have grown up playing soccer together, some for as long as 12 years with the same teammates.
ARLINGTON The ping of aluminum sounds to harken the arrival of summer. For Joel Short it is music to his ears.
MARYSVILLE Arlington threw a wrench in M-Ps postseason plans, defeating the Tomahawks 1-0 on their senior night and throwing the home teams quest for a league title into doubt.
